still here
hi blog people.
That sounds like the worst name they didn't use for some enemy population in the latest star wars movie.
"ARGH! IT'S THE BLOG PEOPLE!! .....argh."
Don't worry, eventually I'll get over the name "blog". But I'm still new at this, so bear with me.
It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I have had a bunch of meetings with a bunch of people. (All separately...so it took up more time.) This process of trying to hone in on an artistic vision has really thrown me for a loop. I wish it would have thrown me a party instead. Any takers?........ no?........ stupid blog people.
If I can be honest for a second, I have been really challenged to find my own voice though. I never really thought I would have a hard time speaking my mind, but turns out I clam up like a giant bivalve (science anyone?) as soon as my ideas are challenged. I just wrote a song called "Little Voice". the idea crept in my head while I was up in San Francisco. My brain seems to swim a lot of the time with ideas and changing opinions on music and where I see myself going. I have been trying to quiet down and really listen to my own intuition. Get back to that place inside that gives you a real gut feeling. (Right above the gall bladder) I knew I would write a song called "Little Voice" and toyed around with the idea of naming the album that. But I think that is a bit premature. By the time the album comes out I could be a loud mouthed jackass, which is kind of catchy. But I think my mom would prefer if I name the album something else. She didn't like it when I pierced my eyebrow either.
We are planning a tour. A small one, still needs a name. We will start in San Diego and work our way up the coast to the beautiful home town du jour called "Eureka". You've found it. It's my first hometown show in my whole career. We are planning it with Raining Jane, my favorite hot girl band ever, and we will all be crashing on floors and couches... you know... true rock star style. There will be more details on the shows coming up, but if you think of any good names, let me know. Mona (Raining jane drummer, vocalist, cajonera) and I came up with SBnRJ. If you say it properly it's pronounced
"Es-bee-en-arshz"
The SBnRJ tour.
Like I said, still working on a name.
Thanks for all the love and support. Can't wait for the Troubadour show on August 8th that we haven't announced yet.
see you there?

mwah!
