I'm in a ballroom in Detroit

All that is happening right now….Holy shit.
Craig Ferguson, the Today Show, People Magazine, Maroon 5, Rolling Stone, radio, Entertainment Weekly….
I feel like I’m writing about somebody else.

I feel wonderful, and a little bit scared, but more wonderful than scared… so I guess I win. These last few months have been a whirlwind, and very quickly my days are filling up with more and more things to do. “Publicist” is actually a word in my vocabulary. Crazy.

I don’t know if I feel compelled to write to reassure myself, or all of you that it’s all pretty incredible. It’s different, and new, but it’s still just me, Chad, Javier and Josh running around having a blast and making jokes and meeting new people and loving the majority of it. Sure we get fucking tired sometimes, and hotel rooms kind of suck after awhile, and gas station food totally makes me nauseous, but my God…what an absolutely awe-inspiring way to live. Everyday is a new city and new faces and new reasons why I’m almost brought to tears with gratitude that somehow I ended up here.

I’m so honored to have your love and support, and believe me, I will spend every ounce of what I have to give in repaying all of you for all of this.

*Sniff*
Ahem.

Now on to more lighthearted matters, just to bring you up to speed.

Lots of people think I’m Jewish.

We tipped a guy named “ Papa Smurf” to watch our car in Detroit.

Chad hates it when people ask questions they already know the answer to in order to start conversation.

Javier was disappointed that when he tried to “Simpsonize” his nephew (www.simpsonizeme.com) and nothing happened.

Josh Day can do a reverse hiccup. It's AMAZING.

It’s humid in Detroit. I looked like I rocked like a rockstar after my set, but I was really just hot.

I miss my bike, and my houseplants.

Aquafina is going on record saying that their water source is actually tap water.

Drew Carey’s still going to ask you to spay and neuter your cats and dogs on the Price is Right. Bob Barker’s happy.

I'm love and love and loving you still.

Hi Sara-
Hi. I saw you in Salt Lake City a couple of weeks ago when you were just here for a minute (at the radio station. ) My husband made me ask you the dumb question "What's your favorite cartoon." I still feel bad about that because it maybe sounded like we weren't totally into you and your music. And I feel bad that we had to rush out after you were done (to get home to the kids)not even saying "Thank You" or "Great Job" Or "We love your music." But guess what? We do love your music! We downloaded you CD off itunes that night and we haven't stopped listening to it since then! I L-O-V-E the whole thing! Thank you. And thank you for coming to SLC. Please come back!

Hi! New fan here- saw you on the Today show, um, today!! Great job. Just wondering if you had ever come down to New Orleans - if so, well come on back, its a great music town (and I only recently found out about you)! Now that i've implanted that little idea in your head, have a great day getting famouser :0

I told a Jewish friend of mine about you and your music, and immediately upon seeing your "Fairytale" video, she said, "She looks Jewish!" Now every time I ask her about how she's liking her Sara Bareilles CD, she says, "It's great - I still think she's Jewish."

We saw you on the "Today Show" this week and loved it. Hope you made it through the Wednesday morning NYC downpour the next day. Of course, Humboldt had rain like that a lot, but that kind of rain (as I'm sure you saw) can cause a lot of havoc here. Anyway, congrats on the success! It's thrilling to watch.

I want to see you SO badly in Seattle on the 27th, but it's a matter of taking I-5 North (which is currently icky because they closed it down to 2 lanes) after work (even more icky because of rush hour). But I'm going to try! I love your music and I'm going to get your new album ASAP! Thank you for being the one artist I can finally relate to and say, oh my god, she's like me!

Hey Sara~

I'm the random chick from Kansas that has been emailing you. Just wanted to let you know that I got your stuff in the mail that you sent for my friend Molly.

I can't tell you how much that meant to me..thanks a shit ton!

Not to creep you out..but my entire sorority house is now obsessed with you..thanks to Molly introducing your music to me and I passed on the music to the rest of the girls and they love it. We played your music for the background to the slideshow played at Molly's memorial service..very touching.

Thanks for all you do!

Love,
Your #1 Fan
