Oh Canada.
Please forgive me. As you may or may not know already, due to a scheduling
conflict, we have had to cancel one of our two Toronto shows with James
Blunt. Now, don't worry, our boy James will still be coming on that Sunday
night, (cue the collective sigh of relief from the ladies) but I
unfortunately can't make it until the Monday night show. I can't even tell
you how much I love Canada, and specifically Toronto. I'm so so so so (four
of them) sorry about any inconvenience or frustration this might have caused
anyone. I do take our commitments to our live shows very seriously and if
there was any way around this, I promise we would take it. I can't wait to
return and try and make it up to anyone who might potentially be mad at me.
Please don't be mad at me. :) Thank you for your understanding.

lots of love!

Might this scheduling conflict be a date at the movies with me? :) The Oscars are Sunday, yes? It's short notice, Ms. Bareilles, and my tux is another gleaming galaxy, but I could make that.

Well this is fun. So far things are synchin up nicely, pretty much as I expected. This isn't crazy talk, just have the gift of precognition. It's somethin I picked up in dreams.

Love.

Hello, workin this afternoon I came across somethin, well, I'll leave it with you. I don't wana spoil this possible surprise for you so here's the man, and the significant date - today.

Ian Shelton from Toronto; February 23, 1987.

It's astronomy, Ms Bareilles, but so ya know, I'm far more interested in people, especially in the areas of language and novel love. Stars, nebulae, black holes, it's all right here.

I won't get mad at you, but damnit Canada demands good music from good musicians, and you're on that list of demands. So we will hold you to that promise of return.

After having spread the news to two dear friends of your talents last year when 'Little Voice' was released, I'm looking forward to attending the Opera House gig with one of them...while the other has gifted me my ticket for my birthday.

Are you going to be doing an in-store while in town...?

I debated doing one of these because I'm not sure if you have the time to read these replies..but here goes. I find your CD to be one of those you can listen to over and over, it's also a great break from my 80s hair bands which I refuse to take off my iPod much to my wife's dismay..She told me if I make her listen to "Breaking the Chains" one more time she will "Blend"(see youtube) my iPod..getting off track.sorry
I really enjoy your CD, "Morningside" and "Between the Lines" are two of my favorites..but "Gravity" is a masterpiece. I wonder how it has evolved since you first wrote it..anyone who has ever had their heart broken knows that feeling..it's a gut check, but time heals all. One thing is certain, whomever it was that broke that little girls heart is feeling like a real douche bag right about.....now.
If you can reply that'd be cool. Sorry to ramble, must be the Miller Lites.

I'm pretty sure I first heard your song: "Love Song" on the radio. Then, my friends introduced me to your songs again on your myspace, but still I only heard "Love Song."
However, after listening to "Fairytale" and all the others, I'm thoroughly impressed by your style. Your voice, your songs, and the lyrics are completely amazing. You have such a beautiful voice. I've never admired someone like this before so I'm quite surprised myself. I was going to buy your cd right now but I'm going to wait for the deluxe version coming out in March 18. I wish you a successful career Sara Bareilles! :)

Always your fan from now on,
Jessy

I must confess I had heard you somewhere but did not pay attention until I saw you on the Today Show and promptly purchased your Little Voice CD. Initially I was captivated by Love Song but then Love on the Rocks, Come Round Soon and Gravity are also outstanding, the CD is one of my most favorite, in fact all your songs have a story line about life. Regardless of what happens now, you are an artist and musician. I am sending this message to let you know that your music transcends any age group and as I believe I am older than your father I can say you must be making him proud.
Keep working it.

I'm not going to write you a love song either. :) Since I hardly even know you. You remind me of another amazing woman named Sarah McLachlan. Hope to see you in Calgary, Alberta if you make it out this way. I would suggest the Jack Singer Concert Hall. It would be a great venue! and I would certainly attend.

I just saw that you are coming to Charlotte, NC! I almost pissed my pants... I've been waiting for you to come see me forever haha. I just wanted to tell you that I will be front row, right up in yo face =D
When you see me (short blonde hair, tall like 5'9, kinda pasty white a little, and I'll have a small silver camera that's pointed at you or in your general direction 97% of the time) point at me so I can snap a picture and brag to everyone I know that you acknowledged ME, or if you said "hey lauren paulsen", or lauren p, or laur paul (any of those would work) that would make my year! And if you want to go get a brew after the show, let me know... I'll hook you up haha
But I can't wait to see you play... April 29th yay

Hey Sara,
Long time reader, furst time commenter. It's nice to be here :)
So I'm at work at the moment (in Australia), streaming the radio as I usually do. Now, I've been a huge fan of yours for a while now, since I fist heard Gravity on my friends' myspace and fell in love with the girl who sings liek an angel yet writes some of the modt biting and witty lyrics I've heard in a long time. I digress, forgiv me. As I was saying, I'm streaming the radio as we speak and guess what's playing? That's right. Love Song has finally made it down under. Congratulations, darling. You deserve it :)

Hi Sara,

I just wanted to say thanks for the utterly beautiful music..

You're like my lucky charm in a way.

I shoot photos out in the florida everglades, and everytime I play you on my Mp3 player I get great shots. Sounds silly, but it's true.

I hope you become the biggest star ever. You deserve it.

Your voice hits me in a place in my heart that no one else ever has.

Hmm, so I dont like leaving comments on these "blog" things, but I think that this is very important. I like your music a lot. I will say that I am probably not your biggest fan, probably not even close. But with that, I do however find an understanding to your music. I get it. I would love to go over some of the meanings of certain songs with you, but I'm sure that will never happen. What I would like even more would be to see you live. Perhaps in Chicago around April 17? One problem.. that show is sold out. I know that you cant give out tickets to just anyone. But it would really mean alot, I could pay from them too. I'm completely aware that this is a slim to none chance but it's always worth a try and what do you have if you dont have faith?
Also, if your goal was to somehow change someone or help someone through certain situations with your music, you have succeeded with at least one person. So thank you, please put me out of my misery and email me so I can know that I will or will not be able to see you live.
Thanks,
tayholts@yahoo.com

ha, well okay for somebody that doesnt like to write on these "blog" things.. I forgot to add something. I honestly think you would be getting more out of this bet than me. I'm a really really cool person, I just am. And you being able to meet me, or even just talk to me.. is probably just as lucky as me being able to meet you. I just dont want you to live life wondering.."I really should've gave that Taylor girl a chance."

Sara,

You know those moments when even words are not enough and there's something so passionately indescribable inside that is bursting to come out? Well, listening to your music, especially Gravity, has done that for me. I'm grateful for whatever you've done to make sure your "litte voice" is heard, because it resonates deep within me. I teared up when I watched your video of hearing your song for the first time. My father passed away years ago, when I was 25, and for Christmas I put Gravity on my Mom's ipod...She loved him so. I think your words capture her experience profoundly. More than words, Sara... just thank you for being beautiful you and all that you've journeyed through to be and share who you are today.
If you're ever in Austin, and would like a quiet place to stay, I welcome you here (after all, we both seem to have the same beautiful nose :). We have wonderful showers here (I know you love them), have a piano (guitar, flute, etc.) too, an extra car, and we're only 12 minutes from town. My husband/best friend is absolutely hilarious and we're both pretty laid back. I'm hoping to see your name on the list for the Austin City Limits music festival in September. I'll make a special trip to see you (my husband and I usually go, but I'm pregnant and might not make it!). In peace, April

Sara...

Was at The Opera House on Sunday...was at Indigo downtown yesterday...had all my preconceptions about you confirmed...

I think what touched me the most was the genuine humility you expressed on both occasions that so many of us were there, at each venue, to enjoy your performances. "I can't believe you're here!"

May you somehow find way to graciously accept what is being given back to you as your popularity and fame increase, may you forever be reminded of the reasons you began this journey in the first place, may you alway be connected to what it is inside you that manifests itself as the music you gift us with.

You're a true treasure and so very deserving of everything that's being presented you.

Thank you for (finally!) coming to Taranna.
