Hi sweet peeps.
(you are my little yellow marshmallow things at Easter. Congratulations.)
I'm just wanting to say a quick hello and I love you and holy sh*t this is the coolest tour ever. We are almost at the end of our little honeymoon tour with Counting Crows and Maroon 5. I can't say enough good things about how inspired i feel, and how grateful i am for having been able to be a part of this tour.
We are performing at these huge beautiful Amphitheaters which are usually positioned a good little jaunt outside a major city, which makes running errands and doing normal city things really difficult, but it breeds boredom, which breeds friendship. :)
It's so crazy, but if you think about it, the actual amount of time we spend on stage is a very small percentage of the day. We are literally like a bunch of kids at summer camp but without the cool activities like archery to take up our time. So we throw frisbees and sit in dressing rooms and eat way too much and laugh and actually get to know each other. I think this is my favorite summer camp ever.
Adam Duritz introduced himself to us the very first night of the tour and after I regained my composure after meeting my hero, he went on to introduce us on stage every single night of the tour. And as if that wasn't enough, he invited us on stage multiple times to sing with the Crows on their song, "Hanging Around".
Best. Camp. Ever.
We visited the site of the original Woodstock of 69 in Bethel, NY and I was truly moved in ways that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I got to stand in the literal footprints of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin and meet my new friend Duke who was basically a hippy who came to that concert and never left. Hi Duke. You da man.
I'm doing my best to enjoy the roller coaster of it all. I'm not always a happy sunshine camper, as I wish I was, but I'm learning that the down times come with a beauty that I'm being challenged to find. I get lonely sometimes, and I still have to remember to relax and stop trying to control everything. I have days where I don't feel like singing at all, and sometimes the show actually fixes that. Sometimes it doesn't. But I guess in the ups and downs I keep setting my sights on the tippy tops of the ride. Those are the most fun, and you have to take them when they come.
I send you all love and so much gratitude. You are friends and truly a huge part of this whole journey.
Off to the crafts table. I'm making you a potholder out of those plastic ring things that keep soda cans together and used popscicle sticks. I'm pretty sure you'll find a place for it.
love yuins.

ps. We're making plans for our stage set up for the fall tour. I can't say much now, but omgeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! it's gonna be awesome. :)

:)
That sounds soooooo cool! I listen to your songs on my ipod everyday, I feel like I am in my own little universe, I honestly can't hear anything else exept your voice (which is beautiful you know)
I decided to get your cd when I first heard Love Song, I wanted to hear what other songs you had done. I was thinking of bying them on itunes, but I thought bying your cd would be cheaper (I was wrong but what can you do?)
Anyway I listened to all of them and loved every single on, though I must admit it took me awhile to like Vegas and Come round soon, but I did come round soon(corny joke alert!) Anyway Sara you are amazing, a completey funny happy person! I please, and I beg of you, don't turn into one of those celbrities who only care about themselves and do stuff just for money, but I trust you won't do that, stay um.... how do I put this...HAPPY AND NICE AND SMART AND FUNNY AND A NORMAL PERSON!
K sorry you get what I mean.
Bye!
From your other biggest fan Samy!
P.S why don't you write more?
Sara,
I was so excited when I found out you were opening for CC (adam is my hero as well... i am jealous of you!). It was so refreshing and, in a way freeing to get to stand and sing and dance with you while you were on stage (I was of course, not on stage with you but rather in my seat ha! oh and i almost fainted when adam came out to listen to you - he was right across the row from me). You soul and your heart ooze from the keys and your voice. I have been so inspired by you as you grow in your craft. Thanks for sharing a piece of you with us at Nissan (near DC). I can't wait to see you in your fall headlining tour!
love&peace,
meghan
(that crazy girl in the white sweater and hippie shirt - i sang every word right with you :) )
Sara,
Glad you are having fun on tour! I wish you were coming to NYC on your fall tour. If you decide to add shows (though its doubtful since your schedule looks packed), please add one there!
I went to one of your shows, and it was seriously the most amazing thing I've ever seen. You are amazing, and your music is so inspirational. I listen to it each and every time I am feeling down, and it seriously lifts my spirits. Listening to your music and then seeing you live makes me realize how amazingly talented you are. Between songs during the concert, the anecdotes you told made each and every one in the audience feel as if they were you best friend. Please never lose your down-to-earth and loving nature. It is apart of who you are, and I can feel it in every song and every lyric.
Anyways, the tour was amazing, and going to see it was probably one of the highlights of my summer.
Love,
Priscilla!
hi sara. (again) i just wanted to tell you that ...
YOU INSPIRED ME TO PLAY THE PIANO. my mom is going to find someone to teach me lessons. I dont have a real piano, but i do have a keyboard :). When i really learn how to play im going to learn to play love song! Then maybe ill record it and put it on my sara b community page!
I just wanted to say thank you.
If it wasn't for you then i never would've tried to play the piano!
(or bring a dusty keyboard from the basement all they way up to my messy room... now THAT is some real hard work.)
Anyways, besides my disorganizedness (is that a word?) Im really proud of myself right now.
:) :) :) :) :)
Hey Sara! Haha, whenever you write, whether it's a song or a blog, it's always interesting!
But I thought I would ask this here since this is YOUR blog...
David Archuleta? You heard of him? He's the runner-up of American Idol, Season 7, and he LOVES you. He just came out with a new single, Crush, and whenever he's in interviews on radio stations, he ALWAYS mentions you as his favorite musician. David had an interview on XM Radio, and when the DJ mentioned that Sara Bareilles had sat in that same chair as him, he was totally awe-struck. I think if you could grace him one day with your presence, it would be AMAZING. He is so famous, has all the fangirls after him, but at the same time, he's a fanboy for YOU! Hope you guys can meet each other someday, that would probably be the most exciting moment of his life. Plus, if you ever want to collaborate with anyone...your voice would sound great next to this 17-year old prodigy :)
I just discovered this artist 3 weeks ago, and her work seems to sell itself! She is impressive and amazing, and this is coming from someone who does not listen to contemporary popular music. I was born and raised in the Catskill Region of Upstate New York, so I was pleased to hear about the memorable visit to Bethel, NY (Sullivan County). All the best from another Italian Peep!
Hi Sara,
I can imagine how thrilled you might be with all these good things happening to you and your band. It must be overwhelming to actually see your talent grow and be recognized by a lot of people.
Your songs, lyrics, voice and tune are magical and inspiring. I love how I can relate to each one of your songs and how they can take me to many emotional drives.
You are tremendously blessed and keep lighting people with your music!
OMG, I just heard your song Gravity. I LOVE IT. It's so beautiful. I have to admit, I am one of those people who sort of listens to the music they hear and I never used to take the time to "search" for music, or listen to albums, and such, but the fact that I missed out on this great song of yours has changed my mind.
I heard it because it was the music for this video:

Eeek, David Archuleta again! I didn't even mean to bring him up this time but I thought I'd give that video honors since it is the montage that gave me the chance to hear the beautiful song.
Hi Sara!!!
My name is Alline Mel, I'm from Brazil, and I love your songs!
you're so cool!!!
and the way you write is awesome! =)
When will you play here in Brazil??
I can’t wait to see you live! =)
I really need to watch your concerts.
Yours songs are great.
You changed my life.
Thank you so much.
Love,
Alline
Hey Sara! I just saw you last night with Maroon 5 and Counting Crows in Milwaukee. The show was unbelievable and you were amazing as usual! My friends and I were all in tears by the end of Gravity. We didn't want to see you go, but we were glad you got such a cool send off on your last night of the tour (except for the celery of course) :). You continue to inspire me each and every time I hear your music. I met you back in February and I only hope to get the chance to talk with you again. You are a true talent, and I am, without a doubt, an enormous fan!!
Sarah! I love you and your music! Especially since I saw you on the The Hotel Cafe tour and we can get "Lovesong" as a free ringtone! keep up the good work, and keep up the soda holder thingy lol
I generally listen to Adult Standards, Classical, and Jazz, but not much contemporary pop. Heard Sara B on the radio for the first time about month ago, I can’t remember if I was flipping through stations or if it was at my Dentist’s office. It was “Love Song”, and what caught my attention was the grand piano, the range of Sara’s voice, and that the vocals did not sound digitally processed. I just purchased the Delux “Little Voice” and enjoy the acoustic performances as much as the studio arrangements. The video that came with the set was impressive, Sara and the band look as good as they sound. Real artists, truly professional musicians. Cant’ wait to see them in concert .
woah..ron c thats weird that you brought up being at the dentists office because a couple days ago i was at the dentist.... and so Love Song started playing! I literally...screamed. The dentist kinda got annoyed with me though :).
Saraaaa! I looked at your second round of tour dates and was kind of disappointed you weren't making another stop in Chicago, but it was GREAT seeing you open at the Maroon 5/Counting Crows concert in Tinley Park a few weeks ago. I first heard you perform back last October at Allstate Arena with Maroon 5, and was blown away by your performance. I had no idea who you were then, but when you invited the audience outside to meet you I was one of the first people there. I immediately bought your album when I got home that night, and came to love not only Love Song, but Gravity, Fairytale and my favorite of all, Many the Miles. A few months later, I was lucky enough to score tickets to your sold out HOB concert in Chicago. Unfortunately, I missed the first few songs at the concert last week, but fortunately I did get there in time to hear you perform Many the Miles (which made my night). I am so glad to see how successful you have become, but I am not at all surprised. Your voice truly is spectacular and I have no doubt that as the months and years go by, more and more people around the country will come to appreciate your gift. Your music is there for me whenever I need to take a homework break, or for when I just need to relax and forget about all the stress in my life (which there will be a lot of with junior year just beginning haha).
Thank you for writing such beautiful and inspirational songs, and you can be confidant that every time you are in Chicago, I'll show up to see and hear you.

Hi there Sara! First time writer.
I just saw you on Australia's Dancing with the Stars, and holy jee bees! I can't believe you're in aussie land. Hopefully Sydney?
Your performance was awesome and the expression you had on your face when you were informed that your song was the most played on the radio? Classic =)
Anyway, must check somewhere to see if you're touring or performing anywhere. All the best, and all the koala hugs you can manage. =)
Matt
Sara,
You came into our salon in Saratoga Springs to get your hair done when you were touring this past summer! We were all freaking out but tried to play it reeeaaallllyyyy cool. We were debating on whether or not to get an autograph from you but decided in the end not to bother you. What we should have said though is how talented and kind you are. Definitely not a diva and that was refreshing to see. I must admit that the only song I knew of yours was "Love Song," but after meeting you and seeing how cordial you were I downloaded more of your music. Now I am a fan! Your new live album is awesome and your version of (Sitting)On the Dock of the Bay is fantastic. Stay beautiful!
