Once upon a time, in a land called UEEZER, there lived 4 musical kings. These kings built a righteous empire out of quirky lyrics, Slurpee straws, amazing melodies, Adidas jumpsuits, and throngs of wild kids. It was a magical place that people dream of visiting; for once they did… they came away changed for the better. They wore cooler clothes, they said cooler things, and they had cooler glasses. (Even if they didn't need them for reading.) Yes, UEEZER was a great place.

Also, upon that same time there was a little girl named Lara Careilles who lived outside the kingdom of UEEZER. She loved music that and hoped one day she'd visit this fine land, for she knew she had much to learn from these great kings...And she wanted to own a cool pair of glasses. One day, a letter came saying there was a music competition being held by the 4 Kings. The winner would get to sing in UEEZER, with the 4 Kings for a special performance of a new song called "If I'm wondering if I want to (I want to)". This was a really big deal.

Lara was delighted at the idea but never in a million years did she think she'd get chosen. After all, she didn't even live in the Kingdom of UEEZER, and she was too scared to risk making a fool of herself. She decided not to even try. Lara went for a walk to clear her head and ended up by the River Skwomo. Yes, that's the River's name. River Skwomo. She sat down next to the River and absent-mindedly started humming to herself. Unbeknownst (great word, by the way) to Lara...The 4 Kings happened to be picnicking under a nearby tree, knitting and eating shrimp. They heard Lara sing and came over to her.

King One said, "Hello weird little girl. Are you going to enter our music competition? We think you might be ok at it." Lara looked down and said,
"I don't think I would fit in." King Two said, "That's the beauty of UEEZER. Everybody fits in. You don't have to worry about that shit." Lara said, "Okay then. I'll try. Can I have some shrimp?" King Three slapped her and they all laughed.

Lara practiced and practiced and after weeks of preparation, she was ready for the competition. She showed up with butterflies in her stomach (and her own shrimp this time) and the knowledge that whoever she is...it's good enough.

She won.

She went on to sing with the 4 Kings for several performances. A few internet recordings, a live show in Bos Angeles, and on the Kimmy Jimmel Television show. It was one of Lara's favorite things she'd ever gotten to do in her whole life. She will always remember that in UEEZER...everybody fits in.

Now to make the rest of the world feel like that.

Before I start to forget what this day feels like, I'm going to try and write it all down. This was one of the most surreal and exhilarating days I've ever experienced, and frankly I'm still part pinching myself and part inhaling a beer to relax from it. (Both are pretty pleasant.)

I was honored beyond belief to be asked by Michelle Obama to be a part of a performance and luncheon she was hosting in Pittsburgh this morning for the G20 Summit. For those of you that aren't up on the political happenings, this is a conference that is held for the leaders of the top 20 wealthiest nations in the world to get together and discuss global economics and ways to improve our struggling world-wide economy.

I'm going on a little tangent here. Wanna join?

I'm not going to lie, I admit to historically being desperately confused by politics and economics. At the risk of sounding moronic, it can be boring. I feel like I can't trust any stories I read, see, or hear because it all feels like somebody's opinion and not fact. That, in addition to the constant bickering and sensationalistic journalism that's out there makes me so irritated. I want to shake people's heads off. Not to mention the fact that I can't keep anybody's name straight.

"Excuse me, what's your name? I'd like to shake your head off."

I promise I have a point.

This experience has reminded me how important it is to do your best to muddle through the bullshit, people. Whatever your view may be on the political spectrum, it's so vital to have one. I'm not going to claim that everybody needs to hole up and learn the names of ALL the states, (just kidding, PLEASE know that) but to be involved and to educate your self is so powerful. We can't forget that.

Definitely hard to forget the power of politics on the streets of Pittsburgh this morning, that's for sure. There was more law enforcement than I've ever seen in every Harrison Ford movie combined. Maybe even every Will Smith movie too. The city felt eerie in that way. Hardly any citizens anywhere in a city that's usually bustling. Yeah. I said it. Bustling.

We made our way through the deserted streets and check points and arrived at the CAPA school for the arts and basically just hung out until all the really important people got there. The venue was in an intimate auditorium that seated not only the First Lady of the United States, but the first ladies of the other 19 countries at the G20 Summit, plus about 100 students from the school. I thought I was shaking because it was really cold backstage, but I was actually just ragingly nervous. I did squats and punches in the air to warm up. I stopped when secret service gave me the stink eye. Note to self: don't punch the air when the First Lady is around. It freaks people out.

The show was lovely and I got to make two new buddies in the lovely and talented Trisha Yearwood and the absolutely infectiously joyful Yo-Yo Ma. We high fived. I felt good about that. The students were articulate and interesting, and so sweet in a Q & A session post-performance. And yes, I said the word "ass" and everyone gasped. I will forever go down with a potty-mouth. Even if it's presidential.

Off to lunch at the Andy Warhol Museum. We dined beneath Warhol's portrait of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, and ate fancy pumpkin soup with bacon in it, and an entree that I thought was a second appetizer, and probably the nicest champagne I'll ever taste.

And I sat next to the First Lady.

Fuh Real.

I couldn't believe they said I would be at her table, but then they said I'd be right next to her..... oh em gee 20. She is so kind and warm and I literally watched her put everyone in the room at ease, myself included. Her grace is effortless, and she made me feel welcomed as a guest and not a tag along. (although I'd have settled for tag along) Being in the company of all these incredible women was a peek into a world that I've never seen before, and it was fascinating. Differences of opinion or policy aside, it's a group of women who share a very unique experience as First Ladies. Its not an easy position to be in, and they seem to do it with such poise and dignity. I felt like I got to see that they have frustrations and aspirations and faults like every last one of us.

For me, they all became human.

I was deeply inspired by that.

My gratitude goes out to every last person that made this day possible. I will most definitely never forget this experience.

And to Mrs. Obama, you are my hero.

Sort of.

Not really. But I'll be near it, and singing with someone who is, so maybe that counts?

I have always been influenced and excited by Broadway musicals and theatre, and I'm getting the chance to be in an event that is designed to give support back to the Broadway Community for all it gives to the world.

I'm a part of the Broadway Impact True Colors Cabaret, hosted by the most fabulous Cyndi Lauper and starring Tony-award Nominee Gavin Creel (ps I just saw him in Hair and he's utterly phenomenal). Both Broadway Impact and Cyndi's True Colors Fund are working in support of equality for all, and most specifically the LGBT community. This is a cause I believe in whole-heartedly and I'm so excited to get to lend my support. The event is going to be fabulous! Halloween show! Costumes and everything! :)

Note to self: Use that more) Matt is a fantastic young songwriter from Florida and I hopped in the studio to meet and write with him and Eric. I get it though. I did all sorts of things to make the money stretch. I lived at the dollar store. I made meals of condiment bars in the food court, and especially mexican restaurants. (yay salsa and jalepenos!) I microwaved coffee I made the day before. Still do that. Don't tell the cool kids.

That was my clever way of mentioning that m'boys in One Republic have just released their latest single on Itunes called "Come Home". Needless to say I was so flattered when Ryan asked me to sing on this track, and I'm excited for you guys to hear it. He also told me the very sentimental story behind the song about a friend of his that was serving in the military and his fiance at home, and their struggles to get through a very difficult time. It really touched me. He wrote a beautiful song that is both hopeful, and sad, and I feel lucky to have been a part of it. Hope you like it.

The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien will welcome the Playing For Change band tonight, Thursday, July 9. Playing For Change fan and Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, will be sitting in with the band on background vocals for this performance. The band will perform "Stand By Me," off of their recent release Playing For Change-Songs Around the World, which debuted at #10 on the Billboard Pop Charts at the end of April and has since sold over 100,000 copies.

Playing for Change began a decade ago, the brainchild of Grammy-winning music producer and engineer Mark Johnson. In 1998 Mark teamed with producer Whitney Kroenke Burditt to create the award-winning Playing for Change: A Cinematic Discovery of Street Music (2004). Seeing great need in many of the locations where the crew filmed and recorded inspired PFC to establish the Playing for Change Foundation, a distinct non-profit entity which provides resources - including facilities, technology, musical instruments and education - to musicians and their communities. The Foundation's first project, the Ntonga Music School in South Africa, was completed in January 2009. Its second, the Mehlo Arts Center in Johannesburg, will open later in 2009.

I just watched the movie ANVIL.
It's unbelievable. It made me want to perm my hair and join a metal band and move to Czechoslovakia and play shows in underground pubs and write songs about leather.
I knew nothing about the band, but saw the preview and immediately was super excited to see it. It seriously is an incredible documentary. For such a seemingly hardcore subject matter, this movie is poignant and tender, capturing moments where you truly see how very deeply these men care about this band and each other. I bawled like a baby. (shocker of the year.)
I sound like a freaking advertisement, but seriously it was an awesome movie.

Thirty Sucks!

I'm not there yet people, but I hear it sucks. I don't believe them. I think it rocks.

so...
I'm going to be brief, cause people get bored reading long things.

And by people i mean me. (when there's no pictures, it's hard to stay focused.)

I got invited to be a part of the season finale of one of my favorite shows, 30 Rock. I'm working on posting a little photo album of my escapade in NY, but it was one of my bestest days ever!! The show had all sorts of amazing guests, and the whole time I was looking around wondering what the eff I was doing there, but fuck it. They invited me. So I went.

(Anyone catch the irony of me NOT spelling the f-word the first time, then spelling it the second time and now me NOT spelling it the third time? I'm so complex.)

For those of you that saw the episode, you saw that it was a smattering of stars. So cool. And not just people who are well-known for being well-known,(BORING) but a really eclectic mix of pioneers in music who inspire the shit outta me. Not to mention the insanely talented cast and crew of the show. They are superstars to the max.

The vibe on the set was totally giddy. You know, the kid-kind of giddy, like when you find out you're getting a pony that also has wings and can fly you to meet Rainbow Brite who's going to be your new best friend, giddy.

Or when you get to sing with Elvis Costello.

Now you understand giddy?

But it wasn't just me. I think everyone felt like they were privileged to be there, and that was a really really lovely sentiment. Getting to be a part of something creative that makes you just grateful to contribute is a really rare and special occurrence. And I'm really thankful that the offer to participate came my way.

We spent a chunk of the day milling around the set of the show, and yes, I begged for a tour (thanks, Scotty G.) and took pictures in front of EVERYTHING. I have pictures of me in front of things that when I look back I don't even know what they were. Adam Levine and Robert Randolph were with me on the studio tour but they didn't think it was as cool as I did to pose in Liz Lemon's breakfast nook. I beg to differ.

Photos up really soon, I promise!

All in all, it was better than my birthday. Sorry, birthday. You've been one-upped.

I'll leave you with my favorite quote of the entire day made by the ultra-fabulous miss Cyndi Lauper:

"If you stop wearing shoes, will your feet keep growing?"

Hello all. I am writing to you in a bit of a panic (but a good kind...I'll explain later) and with mixed feelings. I am extremely sorry to have to announce that our Thursday, March 12 show at Hotel Cafe will have to be postponed. I hope you all know that the postponement of a show is not something I take remotely lightly, but I had an amazing opportunity come to me and I have to make myself available for it. I can't go into too much detail right now, but as soon as it's possible to let you all in on it, I will. I can't say enough how sorry I am for the inconvenience, and please know we are working on how to make it up to Thursday night ticket holders. The details for the make-up show are as follows:

Option 1:
There will be a 2nd show on Friday night for Thursday night ticket holders only. Doors will open at 10:15pm and it will be an 'evening with' performance. All Thursday night tickets will be honored.**

Option 2:
You can still attend Thursday night's show with Raining Jane and Tony Lucca as planned and then also attend my 2nd show on Friday with the same Thursday night ticket.

Option 3:
Full refund is available at point of purchase. Please email production@hotelcafe.com. They will require the full name the tickets were bought under, the last 4 digits of the card used and your email address. The subject line should read REFUND.

Bono and I

we had a moment.
No, I'm not joking, and I'll never be the same.
I was the only person standing while U2 performed their new single at the staples center (god knows why nobody stood up) and Bono looked at me and threw his sunglasses my way. He missed and they went over my head, but that's beside the point. They were meant for me. At least that's what I'll be telling my grandkids.
Me and Bonski connecting was just one of many amazing moments I happened to have been lucky enough to experience at the GRAMMYS! I've been thinking about writing this blog since the morning of the awards but wanted to make sure I sat down with enough time to share every detail. That lofty idea has slowly faded away and now I'm just aiming at giving you as much info as I can on what was one of my favorite days in my entire life.

the entire thing was like a beautiful dream that was all kind of weird at the same time. A beautiful dream where I get to be in the same space and time as artists that I've been inspired by my entire life and I was wearing a princess dress. Weird cause the bar was closed when i got there, Joey Fatone and Lisa Rinna were literally the first people who greeted me, and my shoes were killing me. All surreal, my friends.

Getting ready was a blast, shared the morning with mimosas and coffee in my fancy hotel room and my family and besties came along too. Once we were all dolled up, we headed to the awards early in a limo that got lost. No fun.
Our sweet but potentially senile driver kept saying the word "cherry" over and over to himself. He was looking for the street called cherry. I thought he was obsessed with fruit.
The entire time I was thinking I was going to pass out. I wasn't sure if it was because the dress was tight, or if I was just too nervous to breathe. I think it was a little of both.

We arrived and watched the pre-telecast awards, headed out to walk the red-carpet, and then went into the show. Although I didn't take home any grammys, it was truly such an incredible honor being there. I was on cloud nine the entire time and although I am not usually a star-struck kind of girl, it was difficult not to be affected by the magnitude of talent in that room. Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, U2, Radiohead.... the list goes on and on. My mom sat next to Busta Rhymes and behind Snoop. I think I've said it all. ( i had to tell her who they were, though. Pretty
cute.)
It was surreal to hear my name read out loud by THE Al Green, and to feel like I was a part of the whole thing. Not only did i get to be there to witness this, but I felt acknowledged and included and I just can't stop smiling thinking about the entire night. I never wanted it to end.

But alas it did end, and now we are most happily settling into the very unique experience of being on this Gravity tour. These venues are quite intimate and it reminds me of the first shows I did in LA. I'm reconnecting with just telling stories and truly enjoying my time on stage, and I love it! We are only just beginning, and there's lots more to come... yay. I do hope to get to see some of you along the way.

Have to run, as I'm going into a food coma from chinese food I just inhaled.

Well, to be honest, a lot of you who might be reading this have probably already met her, so what we are doing is introducing her to people that don't normally read my bullsh*t by way of Itunes, VH1 and my cousin, Radio.

We are releasing our next single off of "Little Voice" and it's the final song on the album, called Gravity. It's actually also the oldest song on the record and we have just completed the video for it! I can't wait for you guys to check it out. It's the literal interpretation of leaving Gravity behind, and I might be biased, but I think it's beautiful. Thanks everyone who made that happen.

So many beautiful things to share with you all, Tonight I will be on the Tonight Show (aptly named), performing Gravity and then tomorrow we start rehearsals for the Gravity Tour. I can't freakin' wait!! Not to mention what's happening this coming weekend.... (Sunday Sunday Sunday)

Two Thousand and Eights

I recently wrote a new song. I've been doing a lot of that lately actually, as I'm finding myself getting ready to have a bit more time on my hands. At this point I'm taking a few weeks of much needed time off to start thinking about the next chapter, the next record, the new batch of songs, everything. The prospect of a whole month to myself to just hole up and get cozy with the idea of creating new music, and reconnecting with my life at home is incredible. And fucking scary.
The song is called Anchors Away and that's how I feel right now. even though it seems a bit counter intuitive that spending more time at home would feel like setting out to sea, but it's true. I'm simply not used to it. We have been so blessed this year with a million and one adventures, amazing touring experiences, nights out on the town, dance parties, injuries, arguments, laughter, all wrapped up as an oddly perfect collection of memories. And I'm so grateful.
I wish I could give you guys an idea of what to expect (if you are interested in expecting anything) but to be totally honest, I'm not really sure myself. There is nothing concrete at this point other than the fact that yes I am working on the next record and the writing process is the coolest experiment I've experienced up to this point. I'm trying to push myself in all sorts of directions to see what feels good. What is the most fun to sing, to play, to talk about...whatever. It's incredibly inspiring for me, and I can't wait to share all these ideas with you eventually. I'm sure some of you will be stoked and some of you will be pissed with what comes out, but that's life and I've learned to embrace how incredibly diverse my fans are. I truly feel like you guys are the coolest, most rock-solid group of people out there and so thanks for listening up to this point.
I'm sitting in a plane right now. I don't know why i tend to write these blogs from planes but there is something really nostalgic about being up here. Somehow the minutes in the air lend themselves to being really reflective of both where you were and where you are going. Right now I'm going to San Diego. My family went on a trip to San Diego when I was little. which reminds me of the first time we took a family trip to Disneyland and stayed at a budget motel and had to keep stuffing tissue in the cracks in the walls so cockroaches wouldn't scurry out. And my two sisters got the chicken pox. And I decided that I wanted to move into the Peter Pan ride. Hmmm.
Looking back is fun. I encourage you to do it. Especially when you are the front car in a caravan and people are depending on YOU to know where they are going. I don't know what I'm saying. Maybe I'm saying drive safely? Maybe I'm saying don't caravan, and invest in navigation systems. I'm not sure. Either way, wherever you are going please know that a girl in a plane somewhere over central california is sending out acres of love and gratitude for watching her where she's been going this year. I'll let you know where I end up.

Grammy-nominated Sara Bareilles is kicking off the new year by heading back out on the road for her third set of headlining dates in support of her gold-certified debut album LITTLE VOICE, featuring the Grammy-nominated Song of the Year, "Love Song". Following her extremely successful string of fall dates, Sara will officially hit the road on February 11th at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA, and will cover 11 major cities across America, wrapping things up at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles. Sara Bareilles marked another milestone in her already remarkable career today by grabbing two Grammy nomination. "Love Song," the hit single from her debut album, Little Voice garnered the female singer-songwriter a nomination for "Song Of The Year," as well as for "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" as nominees for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards were announced at the Nokia Theatre last evening.

Today Sara Bareilles releases Between The Lines: Live At The Fillmore DVD via Epic Records. (Available on Blu-Ray on November 11) In addition to a complete LIVE show, the package includes exclusive acoustic performances, an intimate behind the scenes view of Sara and her band as they prepare for their first headlining performance at the iconic Fillmore Theatre in San Francisco, CA, - filmed by Danny Clinch and Pablo Casaverde - music videos and more. In the year of the female singer-songwriter, Epic Records and Hotel Cafe have partnered up to release The Hotel Cafe presents Winter Songs - a compilation of both original recordings as well as classic holiday tracks sung by a lineup of female singer-songwriters including many who have been associated with Hotel Cafe including Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile, and KT Tunstall. The star-studded album, which was released today, will also feature an exslusive medley of the traditional folk song, "Auld Lang Syne." 50 cents from the sale of each album and at least 60 cents from the sale of each download of "Auld Lang Syne" will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

On making Hotel Cafe Presents Winter Songs, singer Sara Bareilles had this to say, "I honestly never thought I would ever be on a Holiday alubm, but when the idea of the Hotel Cafe putting one together came about, I was really excited. Due to Scheduling confilcts the Sara Bareilles concert scheduled for this Tuesday, October 14th at the Crystal Ballroom has been postponed until Sunday, December 14 2008. The show remains at the Crystal Ballroom.

All tickets for the October 14th Crystal Ballroom date and the previously scheduled Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall date will be honored for the new date.

Not really, but i wouldn't mind it if it happened.

We arrived in Australia six days ago and they're not joking when they say "You'll love it here." I know that's not much of a catch phrase, and they don't actually say that in any sort of formal way, I was just thinking that if you happen to meet an Aussie at any point in your life and they happen to have said "you'll love it here" they probably wouldn't have been joking. Because I really love it here, and I would think it's not really a JOKING sort of thing to say, well, I don't know, Anyway...

I'm changing my name to McCauley. I'll show you why.

This is my new best friend, McCauley. And everybody knows that best friends have to have the same name. :)
Thanks to our awesome Zoo hosts, Jane, Amy and Gabe, we had close encounters with Koala Bears, kangaroos, wallabies, stick-bugs, and a possum that was in a knit cap. stopit. so. cute. Spent the entire day geeking out on the animals down under, and acting like little kids at the Taronga Zoo. Highly recommend that. :)
So now you know how we spent the whole of our day yesterday... But we have already done loads of awesome things like opening a show for the incredible Newton Faulkner here in Sydney, and I played on Australian Dancing with the Stars. We have wandered the botanical gardens in both Melbourne and Sydney, and I have met all sorts of wonderful radio and tv hosts who are playing Love Song and Bottle it Up for people down under!
Overall, australia has been unbelievable. The people are warm, and friendly, the scenery is outrageous and the accent is dreamy. I really do love it here. we will be leaving in just a couple of days (boo) but heading to London (yay)!

I really just wanted to check in and show off the fact that I met a Koala bear. don't be jealous. Or do. I don't care. He's MY friggin' best friend. so there.

Hi all, I couldn't wait to share the news that we have just confirmed our Fall Headlining Tour. (cool tour name to be decided) I can't tell you how pumped I am to come back for our second round of headlining dates, the first ones were so freakin' amazing. We are playing some incredible venues and this time we actually will touch down on the West Coast! We are going to be out with two of my favorite acts, MARC BROUSSARD, and RAINING JANE, so please keep an eye out for when tickets go on sale in a city near you. See you soon!

Dearest peoples...

This confessional comes twofold (an excellent word that goes under used by my standards, thankyouverymuch.):

First of all, on Saturday night, July 12, we filmed our first concert DVD at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.
It was absolutely perfect.
Now let me explain: the show was not without mistakes, and I did not remember every chord. I had to use a lyric sheet and I forgot to wear deodorant. My forehead was all shiny on stage because it was hot as f*ck and there were lots of us breathing in there. The day was not without little hiccups and challenges. Literal hiccups, actually. Those suck big time. But there was just simply some sort of magic that graced our moments on that stage and the time leading up to it. We poured our hearts out and the audience was sweet and supportive, and they laughed at my jokes and poured all their love back to us onstage. It was pure. It was honest.
It was absolutely perfect.
Thank you to every last heart and soul that made that night possible. I will never, ever forget it.

Secondly, but not lastly:
I'm sending along a very special announcement that I'm so thrilled to finally get to write. My first album, an independent release from 2004 called Careful Confessions is being re-released at last!
I've been waiting to get to share this chapter of my life for such a long time, and I'm so excited that it's finally here. but I consider this album a snapshot of where I've been and I'm very proud of it. Not that you asked, but I figured I'd tell you what was going on in my life at that time. If you don't want to know, simply avert your eyes and go back to what you were doing before you started reading this.
I had just graduated college and was trying desperately to feel like a real musician. I had won a small songwriter contest and the prize was free CD duplication. Lo and behold, I had no CD to duplicate. Lo and behold, you can't duplicate nothing. Well, I guess you can, but that seems like a waste of time, honestly. So i did what any good, broke, recent grad does. I called my dad and asked him to spot me some cash so I could go in the studio. I recorded six songs with my good friend and wonderful producer http://www.gabrielmann.com. I learned how little I knew about just about everything, and fell completely in love with learning the language of my own music. It was exhilarating and humbling all at once. It was the beginning of what I hope to be a very long relationship with making music in a studio. We completed the album with some live tracks and called it a day. Well, we called it Careful Confessions, but whatever.

It's strange to have to try and explain your history to someone once they are familiar with your present. Careful Confessions is in a lot of ways very different from the music we make now, but I am equally as proud of this record as I am of Little Voice. It was made with the same level of commitment and dedication, and the rough edges are there because that's who I am. There are a lot of the same songs and some new (old) ones, and it's a part of my history as a musician and a songwriter. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.
And if you don't enjoy the journey, they make great coasters.

Hi. I should apologize for not writing more of these, but every time i try and promise that I'll do better in the future. I don't. So maybe we should keep our expectations where they are and secretly I'll try and work on it, so that way there's no pressure from either of us and i have nothing to apologize for when I see you at Thanksgiving. (We may not actually see each other at Thanksgiving. It was also a bad idea to mention that as well. Sorry.)Moving on. I wanted to use this little email to check in and talk about myself. It's nice to do it in emails, then no one interrupts you and tells you how much you talk about yourself. :) There are several really fun things going on in the near future in the lives of the SBworldcampmembers. (that's a new one.) I was chosen as one of the artists featured in MTV's 52/52 campaign! It's a really cool way to see snippets of new artists and they play the sh*t out of these clips so there's a good chance you'll see one if you watch MTV. We filmed a series of vignettes that involve flight attendants, park rangers, swimmers, and velour tracksuits. I'm not joking. Please tune in. They will be airing all this week ( July 7-11) scattered throughout the day on MTV. I'm actually really curious to see how it all turned out, and had so much fun filming. Hooray for fun things. Fun thing #2We are Sophomores on Jay Leno! We are returning to play "Bottle it Up" and I'm really excited to go back and try to not be as nervous as I was before. We'll be there on WEDNESDAY, JULY 9. He's on NBC. You already knew that though. Fun thing #3I'm writing new music! This is a total side-bar, but I'm pretty excited about it, and i can't wait to start sharing the new songs. I feel very inspired right now, and we've had an awesome vacation at home, so there's been some time to reflect and put things into music. Fun thing #4Tom Arnold, Sandra Bullock, Chevy Chase, Bill Cosby, Kris Kristofferson and Bruce Willis are all former bartenders.I'm actually not sure about that last one. I got it off a weird website.
